It is our second time participating in the EFSE as we met lots of international buyers last year. Every season we participate, we aim to meet 5-10 new long-term and quality business partnerships to work closely with. As of the third day, we already achieved this objective. They are all from Mainland China, Dubai, Taiwan, the USA and Singapore.

Last year, we received lots of positive feedback from hundreds of buyers. We are glad to have met 5-10 returned buyers who come back to meet us this year. We are happy to strengthen our relationships through face-to-face conversation. Sometimes it takes a few seasons for buyers to make order, thereby the continuing presence helps. We are now discussing 1,000 to maybe 100,000 pieces of orders with them.

In terms of brand exposure and market research, EFSE helps us get in touch with new buyers from the US, UK, Canada, Singapore, Taiwan, and more. The trade show here displays innovative prototypes and also goods for sale such as AI, robots making drinks and coffee to automation with machine learning. Being in InnoEX enables me to meet and introduce the companies doing smart city projects to our member firms. An Indian company, which is the first one I met interests me a lot. It is really interesting. I also met companies from Hong Kong and mainland China.

Young consumers who are HKTVmall’s major customers generally favour Japanese brands. I plan to purchase US$400,000-500,000 worth of toys and games through this fair. The Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair is the best sourcing platform where I find a diverse range of trendy toys and games. It makes every mile flown from Poland to this fair worthwhile. Separately, I like the new Scan2Match feature which allows me to add exhibitors to my favourites list under the HKTDC Marketplace App.

After attending seven Click2Match meetings and four self-arranged meetings, we have identified three potential suppliers of smart watches because their product quality is good. We will place orders for US$90,000 worth of smart watches featuring Bluetooth calling, GPS and Alexa connection. We’ll visit the fair next year and hope to see more smart watches.

The Food Expo and Tea Fair are always the best place to source new food and tea products. The Click2Match platform introduced by the organiser this year is very useful. Through the service, I’ve found a Poland supplier for tart cherry juice and two suppliers from Mainland China including one from Fujian Province for oolong tea and one from Heilongjiang Province for perilla honey. We expect to conclude distributorship cooperation with them. I am very pleased with what I’ve got at the Expos.
